about

4- Soleil: A Nostalgic Remembrance

In the tapestry of my album, "Soleil" shines as a poignant reminder of childhood memories and distant lands.

"Soleil," the French word for Sun, takes me back to the days of my youth in Damascus. It was in my private French school where I first learned to say "sun," a relic of the French colonization that once touched my homeland.

As the years passed and I found myself in the depths of two German winters, the significance of the sun became clear. "Soleil, I miss you," I find myself whispering, a longing for the warmth and brightness that now feels so distant.

This track is a bittersweet reflection, blending nostalgia with the realities of the present. It's a musical homage to the innocence of childhood, the echoes of French colonization, and the yearning for a sun that feels worlds away. In this journey through memory and emotion, "Soleil" becomes more than a word—it becomes a symbol of longing and remembrance.
